problem
Provide a tool where field agents, managing partners, and agency standards managers can communicate on best practices, useful field techniques, and career development.
Solution
Give agents a clear path to success within the NYL environment and the ability to provide meaningful anonymous feedback. Allow managing partners to utilize a central tool to provide guidance to agents and observe feedback given by them, and provide a tool for agency standards managers to write and alter guidance on process best practices. Provide an easy to use clear resource for all users to access and discover further agency opportunities.
Role
Lead UX Designer within a SCRUM team, responsible for all user experience design activities, producing all UX deliverables, assets, and build reviews. Representing UX in all SCRUM related activities and daily stand ups, working in collaboration with Development Lead, QA, and BA throughout the sprint cycle. Leading all UX presentations and design sessions with the project owner and stakeholders.
Research FIndings
Steak holder interviews, contextual Inquiries, and card sorting exercises were used in discovering user behavior and needs, finding that the existing system was seldom maintained due to lack of access to the right people, not representative of real world practice to most, with many work arounds and adaptations being used based on area. And that information was not centralized, scattered through out different resources.
EXECUTION
Conception
Form the discovery exercises I began gathering documentation and organizing them in larger buckets in creating that made more sense to the user and breaking down into pages and features in the information architecture. Then moving on to lo-fi wireframes focusing the layout on the content space, allowing for text, images, and videos to be embedded. with supporting features tied to head head of the section.
Field Agents
Accessing the platform from multiple devices responsive design what very important for these users. Allowing them to pick up where they left off from different devices, search by relevant tags, bookmark important chapters and sections to them, and leave feedback with comments and ratings.
Agency Standards Managers and Managing Partners
ASM’s and Managing Partners had the ability to author new chapters and sections, add tags, and engage with field agents in the comments.
